Accounts Manager

My client are a well-established law firm based in Chesterfield, who are looking to recruit an Accounts Manager to join their busy and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounts experience or knowledge looking to develop their career within a professional legal environment.

The Role
You will assist with the day-to-day financial administration of the firm, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and records are maintained to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

Processing transactions using Xero and LEAP
Posting transactions to the case management system
Preparing and checking final accounts for Probate and Conveyancing files
Reconciling bank statements and client accounts
Supporting client billing and fee collection
Maintaining accurate financial records
Assisting with general accounts administration
Supporting the wider finance team
Working in accordance with relevant procedures and developing knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules  About You
We are looking for someone organised, accurate and keen to develop their legal accounts knowledge.
You will ideally have:
 
An understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules
Previous accounts experience or knowledge
Experience using accounting software, ideally Xero and/or LEAP
Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
Strong organisational and communication skills
Good data-entry accuracy
A professional and proactive approach
The ability to work effectively as part of a team  Previous legal cashiering experience would be advantageous, although this role could suit someone with a strong accounts background looking to move into the legal sector.
