Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring Oregon licensure and ICU experience.

• Work in the ICU within a community hospital setting
• Intensive Care Unit with 4 beds and a 1:2 nurse to patient ratio
• Patient population includes DKA, septic shock, ETOH withdrawal, hypoxemia, ARDS, and COVID
• Frequent titration of drips such as propofol, levophed, dobutamine, precedex, fentanyl, insulin, esmolol, versed, and ketamine
• Expectation to read and interpret tele strips; unit uses Mindray monitors
• Shift schedule is 12-hour nights (7:00 pm – 7:30 am), every other weekend required
• Potential to float to IMCU or Med/Surg with full assignment; may assist in ED if experienced
• Uses Epic for charting; experience preferred
• Holiday rotation may apply if scheduled shift falls on a holiday
• Telemedicine intensivist support after hours and weekends; hospitalist in-house 24/7
• RT support available at all times
• Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
• Charge nurse oversees multiple units and is available as a resource
• Unit shares nurse aids among Med/Surg and IMCU
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Any color scrubs required, professional appearance with natural hair colors and no visible face tattoos
• Small community hospital with MS, IMCU, and ICU on the same floor

• Active OR RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Ability to titrate multiple critical care drips
• Comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry
• Preferred certifications: TNCC and PALS
• Adaptable to limited resources typical in a small community hospital
