Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team in Beamsville, ON. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in managing full‑cycle accounting processes for the Canadian Irrigation business unit, including month‑end close, financial reporting, and data analysis. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment, and experience handling large volumes of financial data.

• Oversee full‑cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
• Manage the month‑end and year‑end close process in accordance with the Corporate Accounting and consolidation timeline, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist the Business Unit Controller with treasury and tax responsibilities as needed.
• Process and review customer invoices and actively manage accounts receivable and collections to minimize DSO.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a manufacturing environment, including operations and procurement.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting regulations, and internal controls.
• Handle large volumes of financial data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• Supports the Business Unit Controller with other identified reporting requirements as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with full‑cycle accounting (including month‑end close) is required.
• Experience handling large volumes of financial data in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required). Power Query is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems like Genius ERP, Microsoft Great Plains, or Sage Intacct is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across different functional areas.
