• Recruit, hire, train and motivate qualified Service Technicians.
• Assist Technicians in developing their skills.
• Ensure that all repairs are assigned to Technicians in an equal and fair manner.
• Maintain high‑quality service repairs and minimize comebacks.
• Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
• Account for all documents; ensure that none are missing, and all are processed correctly.
• Monitor shop condition, including cleanliness, safety and the condition of shop equipment. Reports problems to the Service Manager
• Ensure the proper care, storage and inventory of special tools.
• Strive for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
• Create and manage shop staff schedules.
• Assist in repairs, problematic diagnostics, maintenance or other tasks involved in customer work orders.
• Monitor and review all technical jobs to ensure quality standards and compliance are met.
• Ensure that all Apprentice and Technician training requirements are met.
• Assist the Service Manager as necessary.
• Perform vehicle road tests as required.
• Remain current on all factory technical bulletins.
• Acquire an understanding of all current and emerging technologies as they apply to automobile service.
• Understand and comply with all federal, provincial and local regulations that affect service operations, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and waste disposal regulations, etc.
• Uphold all rules and procedures (i.e., support enforcement, including disciplinary action as necessary).
• Comply with all company policies, standards and procedures.
• Other duties as required by management.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Automotive Service Technician, fully licensed (310S or higher).
• CDK Dealer software experience is an asset.
• Proven knowledge and experience with automotive mechanical operations.
• Must be team oriented with a positive attitude.
• Work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Must be reliable and able to work productively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
• Quick thinking to provide creative solutions that address customers’ needs and concerns. Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
