Position: HS&E Coordinator - Port Colborne, ON
Location: Niagara Falls

Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Coordinator

Responsibilities include:

Be responsible for site‑specific safety including facilitating orientations, site inspections, review and filing of subcontractor’s pre‑construction and weekly safety submittals, and conducting/leading accident investigations when necessary.

Identify potential hazards and direct rectification measures.

Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance with safety procedures and to escalade issues to resolution.

Organize and conduct training programs including, but not limited to: WHMIS, Working at Heights, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid.

Coordinate weekly safety audit summaries.

Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly project health and safety statistics.

Regulate work site activity in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Coordinate Joint Health & Safety Committees.

Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to rectify.

Provide leadership for a best‑in‑class health and safety program.

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of safety construction experience.

Ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.

Working toward or already certified under the Occupational Health and Safety Act/Regulations with experience working on a construction site.

Holder of or working toward a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate.

Completed a college degree or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.

Experience with the COR Certification process is an advantage.

Position located in Port Colborne, ON and requires 5 days on‑site presence.

Salary range: $66,200 – $82,700.
