Assistant Professor – Finance HBBA

Location:

Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada (Onsite)

Work arrangement:  Onsite hybrid, minimum 3 days per week

Reports To:

Associate Dean – HBBA

Expected hiring salary:  Minimum salary $93,000 (rank and salary are determined through an internal review and approval process)

About the Program
The Bachelor of Business Administration (HBBA) program provides a comprehensive overview of business fundamentals, digital commerce, finance and accounting, human resources, and a focus on marketing, analytics, customer acquisition, retention, and experience in the digital economy.

Students develop critical thinking, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and problem‑solving skills. Graduates gain a digital mindset, communication skills, big‑data analytics comprehension, and an understanding of business ethics for the digital economy.

Responsibilities
Course Delivery:  Teach graduate‑level Finance courses in online and in‑person dual modalities (e.g., Corporate Finance, Managerial Finance, Financial Management, Investments, Financial Markets and Institutions, Risk Management, Financial Analysis, Business Analytics for Finance), delivering dual‑modality flipped and traditional lecture styles and applied learning activities aligned with course outcomes and graduate‑level expectations.

Course Development and Enhancement:  Contribute to course development and continuous program improvement by refining content, learning outcomes, assessments, and instructional resources to reflect evolving financial markets, business practices, technology applications, and academic quality standards.

Applied Learning Supervision:  Supervise applied projects, capstone experiences, and experiential learning opportunities by guiding students through planning, execution, and final deliverables, providing coaching, feedback, and evaluation to ensure academic rigor and practical relevance.

Student Mentorship and Academic Support:  Mentor graduate students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, supporting academic growth, professional development, and applied learning success while fostering an inclusive environment.

Academic Service and

Collaboration:

Engage in service to the program and institution through participation in meetings, committees, and academic initiatives, supporting program operations and faculty collaboration.

External Engagement:  Engage with industry, community, and professional stakeholders to develop collaborations and partnerships that strengthen program credibility and expand applied learning opportunities.

Professional and Scholarly Engagement:  Maintain an active scholarly, professional, or applied practice profile relevant to finance by staying current on financial markets, corporate finance, risk management, financial technologies, analytics, and business innovation.
