Compensation

Marker-Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.

· Master’s Degree Complete ($ - Paid to employees who have completed a master’s degree.

· Undergraduate Degree Complete ($ Paid to employees who have completed a four-year honours degree or a three-year pass degree.

· Third Year Complete ($ - Paid to employees who have completed the third year of an undergraduate honours degree.

· Second Year Complete ($ Paid to employees who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree.

· First Year Complete ($ Paid to employees who have completed the first year of an undergraduate honours degree.

Duties

MARKER-GRADER CONTRACT 2:
January 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026

The number of nominal hours assigned to a Marker-Grader may vary from department to department and from course to course. Total stipend will depend on course enrolment but will consist of .25 hours x number of registered students. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The marker for this contract would mark reflection papers relating to the students' volunteer experience.

Qualifications

1. Must have completed or be enrolled in PSYC 5Y51/52/61/62/71/72 or PSYC 7Y51/52/53/61/62/63/71/72/73, or 5F01, within the previous five years; OR Minimum 3rd Year complete and currently enrolled in a PSYC BA or BSc program, with an average of at least 85; and have taken this course within the previous five years, and achieved a grade of at least 85. Previous successful experience as a TA or Marker-Grader in this course in an academic setting will be considered as equivalent.

2. Must demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of all aspects of the course to clearly explain all course topics
3. Must have excellent communication skills (both written and oral); 4. Must have strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to keep accurate records/manage data;
5. Must have excellent time management skills in order to mark student work within a constrained turn-around time;
6. Must have strong writing and editing skills and a thorough understanding of APA writing style;
7. Must be adept at providing feedback to students in a constructive manner.
8. Must be able and willing to maintain contact with the instructor, fellow teaching assistants and enrolled students by email and audio-video conferencing.
