Teaching Assistant – LING 1F25 (Fall/Winter) Title of Course: LING 1F25 THE STUDY OF LANGUAGE (D1 Fall/Winter)

Compensation Employees who do NOT hold a 4‑year honours degree or a 3‑year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate – $23.30 per hour (effective September 1, 2026).
Employees who hold a 4‑year honours degree or a 3‑year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate – $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026).
Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Duties and Responsibilities Scheduled contact time with students.
Non‑classroom time: preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.
Qualifications Minimum four‑year BA complete, or admission to 4th year with 80 percent major average.
Must have taken this course (or equivalent) and received 80 percent (or equivalent) in the course.
Demonstrated interpersonal qualities that support students’ course‑related needs and promote good communication/discussion.
Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated capacity to keep accurate records and to manage data, including solid practical ability with Excel applications.
