Compensation
Marker-Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
Master’s Degree Complete ($36.00/hour) - Paid to employees who have completed a master’s degree. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
Undergraduate Degree Complete ($31.04/hour) Paid to employees who have completed a four-year honours degree or a three-year pass degree. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
Third Year Complete ($22.91/hour) - Paid to employees who have completed the third year of an undergraduate honours degree. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
Second Year Complete ($20.15/hour) Paid to employees who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
First Year Complete ($19.00/hour) Paid to employees who have completed the first year of an undergraduate honours degree. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)

Duties
Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.
The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams and must be prepared to provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned; whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.
The marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.
Qualifications
Must have completed ACTG 3P11 or 3P63 (or equivalent in English) and attained a grade of 80% or higher
Graduate of or Major in Accounting with a minimum major average of 75%
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Proven track record of working effectively with deadlines
Previous Marker/Grader experience is considered an asset

Graduate Students enrolled at Brock University shall not accept an appointment in excess of an average of ten (10) hours per week over an academic term, in which she is enrolled as a full-time student, without the prior permission of the Dean of Graduate Studies.
Undergraduate Students enrolled at Brock University shall not accept more than nine (9) Teaching Assistant appointments, or the equivalent of nine (9) Teaching Assistant appointments in any classification, per term minus the number of courses in which that student is currently enrolled
