PSYC 2P15, Psychopathology

Compensation

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.

· Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ per hour.

· Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ per hour.

Duties

The number of nominal hours assigned to a Course Coordinator may vary from department to department and from course to course. Total stipend will depend on course enrolment but will consist of .2 hours x number of registered students. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement, and may include but are not limited to, Overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections for this course;
Coordinating and meeting with TA/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders;
Keeping up-to-date records on marks and mark changes;
Dealing with student changes in seminars;
Handling of documentation for medical or family related accommodations;
Dealing with the problems and issues associated with the course in a timely manner;
Answering student and TA e-mails and dealing with questions effectively;
Arranging makeup tests;
Other related duties as assigned by the Instructor.

Qualifications

1. Must have completed or be enrolled in PSYC 5Y51/52/61/62/71/72 or PSYC 7Y51/52/53/61/62/63/71/72/73, or 5F01, within the previous five years; OR Minimum 3rd Year complete and currently enrolled in a PSYC BA or BSc program, with an average of at least 80; and have taken this course within the previous five years, and achieved a grade of at least 80. Previous successful experience as a TA or Course Coordinator in this course in an academic setting will be considered as equivalent.

2. Must demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of all aspects of the course to clearly explain all course topics;
3. Must be meticulous and well organized;
4. Must have a demonstrated ability to keep accurate records/manage data;
5. Must be skilled with spreadsheets and database management and have experience with Sakai;
6. Must be able and willing to present material/conduct seminars remotely.
7. Must be able and willing to maintain contact with the instructor, fellow teaching assistants and enrolled students by email and by audio-video conferencing and/or in-person meetings and to conduct seminars and office hours via audio-video conferencing and/or in-person meetings.
