Compensation

Marker-Grader positions are paid according tothe qualifications that the employee holds. 

Master’s Degree Complete ($ - Paid to employees who have completed a master’s degree. 

Undergraduate Degree Complete ($ Paid to employees who have completed a four-year honours degree or a three-year pass degree. 

Third Year Complete ($ - Paid to employees who have completed the third year of an undergraduatehonoursdegree. 

Second Year Complete ($ Paid to employees who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree. 

First Year Complete ($ Paid to employees who have completed the first year of an undergraduatehonoursdegree. 

Duties

The number of nominal hours assigned to a Marker-Grader may vary from department to department and from course to course. Total stipend will depend on course enrolment but will consist of .67 hours x number of registered students. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. Duties will include marking tests and exams.

Qualifications

1. Must have completed or be enrolled in PSYC 5Y51/52/61/62/71/72 or PSYC 7Y51/52/53/61/62/63/71/72/73, or 5F01, within the previous five years; OR Minimum 3rd Year complete and currently enrolled in a PSYC BA or BSc program, with an average of at least 80; and have taken this course within the previous five years, and achieved a grade of at least 80. Previous successful experience as a TA in this course will be considered as equivalent.

2. Must demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of all aspects of the course to clearly explain all course topics;
3. Must have strong writing and editing skills and a thorough understanding of APA writing style;
4. Must have excellent judgement in evaluating the quality of written assignments;
5. Must have excellent time management skills in order to complete marking assignments on time and to arrive on time for proctoring of tests and assignments;
6. Must be available for test and exam proctoring throughout the term and must be available for intensive marking during the week immediately following the final exam.
