4207-1 (Employee Group) NUSC 2P80 Fall D2 Nursing Care of the Adult & Older Adult - CLINICAL 128 Hours Compensation Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour.
(Rate effective September 1, 2026) Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
Qualifications A completed Master of Nursing (MN/MScN) degree or a recognized graduate degree in a related field is preferred
Previous course coordination experience working in a large course with multiple sections
Experience grading scholarly papers and other written course evaluations
Strong foundation in education and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Strong organization and time management skills
Duties Reporting to the Department Chair or Course Instructor, the duties and responsibilities of the Course Coordinator will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. These include overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course; coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them; assisting in the preparation of marking schemes and coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams;
and any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor.
Responsibilities In collaboration with the Course Instructor, the Course Coordinator will:
Facilitate course communication:
Respond to student inquiries via email and/or LMS
Post announcements on course LMS site
Facilitate course evaluation measures:
Format exam scripts, prepare for printing, and coordinate distribution/tracking of exam documents
Invigilate exams
Coordinate and administer make-up quizzes/exams
Coordinate grading of exams and assignments supporting consistency across multiple marker-graders/sections
Correspond with students who have missed assignments, tests, exams and assisting in the coordination of make-up assessments, as approved by the course instructor
Support academic accommodations and medical absence verification:
Liaise with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) and course instructors to coordinate academic accommodations for individual students
Validate and correspond with students regarding Medical Self Declaration and Medical Verification Forms
Prepare course materials/resources and maintain course LMS site:
Liaise with EdTech in course LMS site design and configuration
Post materials/resources to course LMS site
Support updating, formatting, editing course materials, including lesson plans, assignments, and assessments
