POSITION:Supply Food Services Technician / Long-term Occasional
LOCATION:
DSBN Secondary Schools in the Niagara Region RATE OF PAY: $26.18 per hour (including 4% vacation pay)
SCHEDULE:
On-call working up to 35 hours per week
Position Summary:
As a Supply Food Services Technician, you will have the autonomy to determine your availability and preferred work locations, allowing you to tailor your schedule to fit your lifestyle. This flexibility extends to choosing the days you want to work, promoting a positive work/life balance. The position involves assisting students with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals while maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the food preparation area.
The work also involves the control and handling of cash receipts from the sale of meals and balancing of accounts.

Qualifications:- Grade 12 education or equivalent, supplemented by courses in quantity cooking;
- 1-2 years of experience in commercial or institutional food preparation and service;
- Demonstrated ability to work well with students as well as colleagues;
- Strong knowledge and commitment to food safety and sanitation;
- Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle for travel within the jurisdiction.
- Upon hire, provide a Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months);
- Agreement to comply with the Board’s policies, procedures and code of conduct;
- Complete an annual offence declaration process.
