The Senior Environmental Scientist position is ideal for someone looking for career advancement and professional growth, including an opportunity to develop into a Project Manager role. The ideal candidate will be familiar with relevant Ontario regulations and have at least 3-5 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.
A Day in the life of Senior Environmental Scientist
Perform Phase I/One and II/Two Environmental Site Assessments including soil, groundwater and soil vapor sampling in support of municipal redevelopment approvals and Record of Site Condition filings.
Monitor underground storage tank removal programs and other remediation activities.
Assist in the training and mentorship of junior/intermediate project technologists.
Prepare and edit technical reports, including the development of conceptual site models.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other potentially involved stakeholders.
Develop and maintain positive client relationships.
What You Bring To The Pinchin Team
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering and/or Diploma in Environmental Science.
3-5 years of related experience, preferably in Ontario
Professional designation, such as P. Eng. , P. Geo. , C.E.T. etc. (or working towards) is considered an asset.
Excellent writing, editing, technical and organizational skills along with the ability to problem solve
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently.
Ability to thrive in a team environment.
Strong working knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04
Experience with Excess Soils work under Ontario Regulation 406/19
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
Availability to travel for work when required.
Availability to work outside core business hours.
Valid driver’s license, insurance & personal vehicle is required (work related travel expenses will be compensated)
