Senior SolidWorks Mechanical Designer

Design manufacturing-ready steel structures and carts near Grimsby using Solid Works, structural detailing, and accurate material costing in office.

This experienced Mechanical Designer transforms product concepts into production-ready models and drawings for fabricated steel structures, garden-centre fixtures, carts, and shade systems. You will develop components, weld assemblies, sheet-metal designs, and detailed fabrication documentation. The work also includes structural layouts, load considerations, material takeoffs, cost estimates, ERP records, and production support.

• Develop parts from concept through Solid Works modelling and production release
• Create weld assemblies, sheet-metal designs, and 2D fabrication drawings
• Prepare structural layouts, dimensions, tolerances, cut lists, and bills of material
• Conduct structural calculations and stress testing for load capacities
• Support production, installation, quoting, prototypes, and technical troubleshooting

• Five years of technical design experience in manufacturing or fabrication
• Hands-on costing and structural design or detailing experience
• Proficiency in Solid Works or a similar modelling tool
• Experience with fabricated steel or aluminum structures and connections
• Diploma or degree in mechanical, civil, or engineering design technology
