This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and is responsible for receiving, preparing and delivery of Rx accurately and in time. Ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patient’s needs, and counsel with appropriate documentation to all patients. Provide friendly, positive, and proactive interaction with all internal and external customers as well create awareness and educate customers through public relations.

Also, supervise and provide guidance and direction to staff, with the accountability of the financial and operational success of the department.

What you’ll do
  • Supervise and provide guidance and directions to Pharmacy staff
  • Responsible for hiring and managing the performance of all Pharmacy staff
  • Responsible for creating Pharmacy schedules and arranging for vacation and shift coverage
  • Accountable for the financial and operational success of the Pharmacy department
  • Obtain and review budgeted sales and net contribution of the Pharmacy to the Grocery Store
  • Identify and report sales opportunities both internally and externally
  • Review and control costs at all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy
  • Ensure Pharmacy Operations follow OCP and Company Regulations, Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure medication and behind the counter inventory levels are adequate to meet patients’ needs
  • Attend meetings as assigned
  • Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely to patients
  • Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and pro-active interaction
  • Administer Vaccinations and other activities as legislated by the Pharmacist Scope of Practice Program
  • Provide Pharmaceutical Professional Services such as Medication Reviews, Follow-Ups and Minor Ailment prescribing
  • Provide timely and positive resolution to patient’s needs and Doctor’s requests/issues
  • Review and control costs at all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary)
  • Provide on-going training for all new and existing Pharmacy colleagues
  • Create awareness and educate customers through public relations (public health days, clinics, etc.)
  • Provide timely and positive resolution to patient’s needs and Prescriber’s requests/issues
What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy, licensed to Provide Patient Care in Ontario (OCP)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail Pharmacy environment
  • Injection Certification, CPR certification
  • Strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to motivate and coach others
  • Excellent customer service skills and a keen sense of professionalism
  • Proven ability to build the business using community-based marketing strategies
  • Strong problem-solving skills including experience formulating and executing action plans
  • Strong personal computing skills (MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word) as well as working knowledge of Health Watch Pharmacy computer system
