Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our Maintenance Department in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for overseeing maintenance activities, people, systems, vendors, facilities, utilities, and departmental performance.

The Maintenance Manager will lead and mentor the maintenance team, drive preventive and autonomous maintenance practices, support the transition toward a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system, and ensure critical equipment, machinery, tools, facilities, and grounds are maintained to support operational needs.

This role requires a strong maintenance leader who can balance strategic planning, hands‑on problem‑solving, safety compliance, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Maintenance team to achieve departmental and company maintenance goals.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans, procedures, and strategies aligned with company programs and operational objectives.
  • Support the transition from the existing maintenance system to a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system, including implementation, ongoing operations, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee autonomous, preventive, and emergency maintenance for critical equipment, machinery, tools, facilities, utilities, and grounds.
  • Lead and participate in focused improvement activities, quality maintenance initiatives, training, Environmental Health and Safety activities, and administrative work related to the Maintenance Department.
  • Direct and coordinate plant utilities, custodial services, waste disposal, housekeeping, and facility upkeep.
  • Recommend and coordinate vendors, contractors, materials, and supplies required for maintenance and custodial functions.
  • Monitor utility costs, maintenance material purchases, and departmental spending to support cost control.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with company policies, procedures, labour regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Support emergency response activities, including evacuations and workplace safety incidents, in coordination with the Safety Coordinator.
  • Ensure corrective actions are taken to resolve issues resulting from accidents, injuries, equipment failures, or facility concerns.
  • Prepare and approve vacation schedules for Maintenance Department employees.
  • Ensure the department, equipment, and facility areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
