Maintenance Technician - St. Lawrence Village, St. Catharines, ON
Realstar Corp. is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team rence Village in St. Catharines. If you take pride in keeping a building running smoothly and enjoy solving problems, we'd like to hear from you.
About the RoleAs Maintenance Technician, you'll help keep St. Lawrence Village well-maintained and running efficiently, from responding to resident requests to overseeing life safety systems. You'll report to the Property Manager and work closely with them on suite inspections, building repairs, and day-to-day upkeep.

- Respond to resident issues and service requests within 24 hours for minor repairs and maintenance
- Help maintain a welcoming, professional environment for residents, prospects, and contractors
- Guide residents on submitting maintenance requests through the online portal
- Complete daily walkthroughs of floors, stairwells, and common areas, fixing minor deficiencies as you go
- Coordinate and supervise contractor repair work to ensure it meets our standards
- Support the Manager with capital expenditure planning and invoices
- Apply general knowledge of building systems such as pumps, emergency generators, HVAC, boilers, chillers, pools, and sprinklers
- Maintain working knowledge of fire alarm and detection systems
- Help ensure compliance with local fire and life safety regulations, including bi-annual fire drills
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including foyers, amenity rooms, the underground garage, locker rooms, patios, and rooftops
- Prepare vacant units for move-in, including appliances, floors, walls, windows, kitchens, washrooms, and balconies
- Manage garbage and recycling collection in line with the city waste schedule
- Handle yard maintenance, including snow and ice removal and salting walkways and entrances
- Previous experience in multi-residential property maintenance or a related field is an asset
- Basic knowledge of emergency procedures (fire, flood, mould)
- Ability to identify equipment malfunctions, such as HVAC or boiler issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A customer-first attitude and willingness to help residents troubleshoot minor issues
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push or move objects exceeding 50 lbs.
