Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) – Temporary Part‑Time 15 hrs biweekly (6am‑2pm).

Extendicare St. Catharines, St. Catharines.

Director of Care.
Qualifications   Appropriate current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices.
Knowledge in Infection Control Practices.
Demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
Ability to work effectively individually and with others while prioritizing tasks.
Ability to present information clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.
Active listening with a friendly demeanor.
Ability to collect and use information to develop creative solutions and see the big picture.
Organizational, planning, time‑management and multi‑tasking skills.
Responsibilities   Ensure resident care is provided with established nursing standards, physicians’ orders, and administrative policies.
Observe, report, and record vital signs, symptoms, and conditions of residents.
Assure observance of required nursing techniques.
Assist in assessing residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate resident care plans.
Monitor residents’ health, note changes, and assess need for referral to doctors; processed and implement physicians’ orders.
Plan, direct, supervise and evaluate the work of personal care staff assigned to the unit.
Assist in preparing the Facility for RAI MDS.
Staff replacement in the absence of the Registered Nurse.
Complete medication passes accurately and timely.
Compensation  Part‑time: $33.47 – $35.07 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
