RPN, Operating Room, Temp RPT

As part of the candidate assessment process, applicants may be required to complete a written and oral examination and provide a record of educational activities (including e-learning report) over the last 2 years during interview.

• -Current Certification of Competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• -RPN Diploma preferred.
• -Current BCLS certification.
• -Recognized OR course from a Community College or equivalet
• -Minimum 2 years current OR experience (within the past 3 years)
• -Minimum 1 year recent surgical experience (within the past 3 years)
• -Knowledge of the principles of asepsis.
• -Computer Skills - Intranet, Microsoft Office, Care Manager, STAR, Solcom, Risk
  Monitor Pro.
• -Practice level consistent with the full scope of practice as outlined by the College
  of Nurses of Ontario, which includes but is not limited to:
• -Evidence of the successful, administration and management of blood &
  blood products
• -Evidence of the successful completion and/or practice in processing physician
  orders, administration of oral, subcutaneous, IM, suppository, aerosol and
  IV medications, venipuncture and IV initiation and management
• -Demonstrated adherence to the expectations of nursing practice at CKHA
• -Member of RPNAO preferred
• -Satisfactory Attendance
