About the Position
Under the direction of the Senior Recreation and Culture Ambassadors (and Supervisor of Aquatics and Recreation Programs), the Recreation and Culture Ambassador is responsible for facilitating Rec Rentals at the docks, Empire Sportsplex, Welland public pool and aiding with events on the waterway.Duties & Responsibilities
The duties listed are not meant to provide a description of each and every job performed but only those which represent the core functions of the job.Responsible for loading and unloading boats.
Thoroughly understands and executes all policies and emergency procedures and reports arising concerns.
Provides excellent customer service, performing sales, cash handling and daily opening and closing procedures and hourly checks.
Maintain overall general supervision and safety of the public.
Clean and maintain general facilities, equipment, and supplies including cleaning public bathrooms.
Responsible for handling all pool public admissions.
Responsible for facilitating a variety of aquatic services and activities.
Report any issues or concerns to the Senior Recreation and Culture Ambassadors.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you need to Succeed...
- Must work a minimum of one shift per week- Must not exceed 24 hours per week, with the opportunity to work more hours if they become available
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
Valid Pleasure Craft Operator Card.

Principles of healthy childhood development (recommended).
Vulnerable Sector Police Check (as per the City’s Police Background Check procedure).
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
Must have experience with cash handling.
