Our client, a manufacturing company located in the Niagara region is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team.
What you will do in this role:
Oversee food safety and quality systems to ensure products meet specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards
Partner with production leadership to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve quality and food safety issues
Lead, train, and schedule Quality Control (QC) staff
Manage preventive controls, non-conformance investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis
Oversee finished product hold and release, including positive release and customer-specific requirements
Manage third-party laboratory testing, review results, and issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
Maintain audit readiness through GMP inspections, internal audits, and self-inspection programs
Lead and support 2nd and 3rd party audits (BRC, AIB, Organic, GFCO, customer audits)
Support regulatory audits (FDA, CFIA, local health authorities)
Serve as HACCP Team Member and on-site PCQI
Oversee sanitation, allergen control, environmental monitoring, and pest control programs
Manage foreign material prevention and detection programs, including equipment calibration and investigations
Oversee lab operations, calibrations, documentation, and inventory management
What you will bring to the role:
Degree in Food Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
HACCP and PCQI certification (or willingness to obtain)
Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience
Experience in an FDA-regulated food manufacturing environment
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with MS Office
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
