Addictions Counsellor

Position: Full-Time Addictions Counsellor Role
Location: Niagara Falls

Take your counselling career to new heights as an Addictions Outreach Counsellor with Community Addiction Services of Niagara. This full-time, contract role focuses on delivering crucial support and guidance to clients dealing with addiction.

Under the guidance of the Director of Youth and Outreach Services, you will be responsible for initial assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing support within the Outreach Services Program. Your expertise in harm reduction, trauma-informed practices, and effective communication will directly impact the lives of those you serve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake and eligibility assessments

• Create personalized treatment plans with clients

• Lead group counselling and educational sessions

• Collaborate with service providers for client referrals

• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of services

Requirements:

• Two years of addiction experience or relevant diploma

• Current criminal record check for vulnerable sectors

• Valid driver’s license and insurance

• Experience in crisis intervention and safety planning

• Current certification in First Aid and CPR
