Overview Senior Engineer
- Guidewire Claim Center (Contract)
Details Number of positions: 1
Contract:
6-month initial contract with potential extension
Location:
anywhere in Canada; if close to a client office, 2 days per week onsite
Eligibility:
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Responsibilities Lead the design and development of complex application features, acting as the technical lead for medium-to-large initiatives within Guidewire Claim Center.
Operate within a Guidewire Cloud (Mammoth version) environment to develop, implement, and maintain a complex ecosystem of business applications.
Work in an Agile framework.
Solution Architecture:
Collaborate with solution analysts and business stakeholders to produce technical designs that align with enterprise standards.
SDLC Ownership:
Manage the software development process from user story decomposition and requirement review through to final delivery.
Code Quality:
Conduct peer code and design reviews, providing coaching to junior team members to maintain high-quality coding standards.
Integration & Configuration:
Develop and configure software within existing enterprise platforms, managing dependencies across integrated systems and data.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure robust delivery through the creation and execution of automated tests and the enhancement of existing testing frameworks.
Qualifications At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Guidewire application development specifically on the Guidewire platform, with a focus on Claim Center.
Cloud Proficiency:
Experience with Guidewire Cloud is highly preferred;
Guidewire Certified (Associate or ACE) is a significant asset.
Technical Stack:
Robust skills in GOSU, web services, and database management. Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, Team City, Jira, and Confluence is an asset.
Industry Knowledge:
Previous experience within the Insurance industry is a major plus.
Soft Skills:
Proven ability to foster teamwork, excellent analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Education:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Software Development or a related field.
