Position: Drivers - On Demand Service Greater Niagara Region
Location: St. Catharines

Voyago is seeking responsible and compassionate individuals to join our team of on demand drivers in the Greater Niagara Region! Including St Catharine's, Welland and Fort Erie.

Your Role

As an On Demand Service driver, you will take pride in playing a key role in ensuring the independence and mobility of our city’s most vulnerable passengers. Your efforts will directly contribute to their ability to access essential services, appointments, and daily activities safely and comfortably. You will provide safe, reliable transportation, while delivering excellent customer service and assisting passengers with care and respect.

You will perform basic vehicle inspections at the start of each shift to ensure the vehicle is in good working order, including checking tire pressure, brakes, lights, and other essential systems. The rate of pay for this position is $ per hour. This is a unionized position. We are looking to fill a current vacancy.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • You are offering door-to-door customer service.
  • You may be assisting passengers in boarding vehicles and maneuvering wheelchairs or other accessible devices.
  • You may be attaching securement belts and lifting portable assistive devices as needed.
  • You will ensure the proper restraint and security of passengers, devices, and mobility aids if applicable
  • You are providing passengers with accurate information on fares, schedules and stops.
  • You will maintain a safe and comfortable environment throughout the journey.
  • You will communicate effectively and professionally with passengers and team members.
  • You will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • You will be providing WOW! customer service to all passengers at all times
  • You are comfortable with a fast paced physically demanding job (pushing wheelchairs with a maximum of 250lbs. Twisting, pulling, getting low to the ground to secure the wheelchairs)
  • Requirements

    Your Profile

  • You are a safe driver with a clean driving record
  • You can obtain a clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening
  • You are a professional driver with a minimum full G class drivers license
  • You are able to work with individuals who may have special needs in a compassionate and patient manner
  • You are physically capable to lift and maneuver assistive devices if required
  • You have excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Your prior experience in a similar role would be preferred
  • You are comfortable working around any type of service animal
  • You have a sound knowledge of the Greater Niagara region and surrounding area
  • Various shifts available:
    Monday to Saturday: morning/afternoon/evenings, as well as 'Open Report' drivers who will be scheduled for onsite shifts, to pick up and cover multiple driving shifts as needed
