Position: Captain for Drybulk Vessel Management

Lead the marine operations at Algoma Central Corporation as a Captain on drybulk vessels. Ensure safety and operational excellence while managing crew and adhering to maritime regulations.

This management role establishes key responsibilities for the safety of the crew and vessel. As Captain, you represent the company aboard, making crucial decisions for environmental protection, safe cargo operation, and safeguarding commercial interests. Uphold compliance with Canada Shipping Act and various ISO standards while leveraging your leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure crew safety and operational safety of drybulk vessels

• Manage and protect the environmental standards on board

• Oversee cargo operations and maintain commercial interests

• Make decisions regarding safety and pollution prevention

• Uphold compliance with Canada Shipping Act and ISM Code

Requirements:

• Master Mariner or equivalent certification preferred

• Minimum 2 years as Captain on drybulk vessels

• General Operator's License (GOC – GMDSS) required

• Proficiency in safety management systems

• Ship Security Officer certification needed
