Overview
Primary Responsibility
Full time faculty positions begin in July 2026 with a 30-credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually. The successful candidate will teach communications courses, including but not limited to Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Group Communication. This position provides general education requirements within Associate's and Bachelor's programs and supports concurrent enrollment for local high school students.
Courses will be taught in various modalities including online, virtual classroom, in person, and hybrids.
Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include teaching the course load as assigned, evaluating courses and assessing student learning, meeting established course, program and learning outcomes, complying with guidelines and policies, maintaining office hours per established standards, developing rapport with students, and assisting with advising, orientation and registration activities. CMC Faculty are expected to engage in service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentoring peers, assisting with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.
Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards):
Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Examples of ideal qualifications include:
Master's Degree in Communication, or a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Communications. A minimum of one-year, full-time teaching experience or the equivalent (30 credit hours) as an adjunct faculty member. Higher education teaching experience preferred. Experience needed in a variety of teaching delivery modes including in person, hybrid, synchronous online, and asynchronous online; excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility and collegiality are essential.

Salary range: $79,902.51 - $97,321.19 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Pet insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, annual & sick time, mental health resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, affordable transitional housing may be available to the successful candidate based on eligibility and availability, relocation if applicable. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill and experience.
Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
