Job Description
Full time faculty positions begin in July 2026 with a 30‑credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually.
The successful candidate will teach communications courses, which will include but not be limited to Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Group Communication. This position is vital for providing general education requirements within Associate's and Bachelor's programs as well as supporting concurrent enrollment for local high school students. This position will teach in various modalities including online, virtual classroom, in person, and hybrids.
TeachingResponsibilities
Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include teaching course load as assigned, evaluating courses and assessing student learning, meeting established course, program, and learning outcomes, complying with guidelines and policies, maintaining office hours per established standards, developing rapport with students, assisting with and participating in advising, orientation, and registration activities.
Service and Scholarly ActivitiesCMC Faculty are expected to engage in service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentoring peers, participation in and assisting with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention. They are also expected to conduct scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise and improve learning.
Pre‑requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed. Ideal qualifications include:
- Master's Degree in Communication or a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Communications.
- A minimum of one‑year, full‑time teaching experience or the equivalent (30 credit hours) as an adjunct faculty member. Higher education teaching experience preferred.
- Experience across a variety of teaching delivery modes including in person, hybrid, synchronous online, and asynchronous online.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and collegiality.
- Commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.

Salary and BenefitsSalary range: $79,902.51 – $97,321.19 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, pet insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, annual & sick time, mental health resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, affordable transitional housing may be available to the successful candidate based on eligibility and availability, relocation if applicable. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate's skill and experience.
Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
