We’re looking for a dynamic, detail-driven Controller to take the reins of our financial operations. This is more than just crunching numbers - you’ll play a vital role in steering our financial strategy, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring seamless financial operations to support the growth of our premium bike brand. As the Controller at Moots Cycles, you will oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This role requires a balance of technical accounting expertise and leadership skills to support the company’s operations, inventory management, and long-term financial health.

• Own all accounting functions which include AP, AR, general ledger entries, and cash flow management.
• Process invoices, payments, and receipts with accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and e-commerce transactions.
• Lead the month-end close process, delivering timely and accurate reporting.
• Develop and manage budgeting and forecasting strategies to support business decisions.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with operations stock turnover.
• Implement inventory control procedures to prevent shrinkage and obsolescence.
• Partner with the Operations Manager to ensure inventory is aligned with production needs.

• Manage payroll processing and related benefits, including Simple IRA and PTO.
• Work alongside the President to support HR functions and cultivate a positive, high-energy culture.
• Encourage and promote a healthy work-life balance, including cycling and other local outdoor activities.

• Ensure timely & accurate financial reporting for all tax filings, banking, and audits.
• File monthly and annual sales tax returns.
• Strengthen accounting and business process controls to drive operational excellence.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting and inventory management, ideally in manufacturing.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting and compliance.
• Proficiency in Quick Books, Shopify, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• A sharp analytical mindset, with organizational and time management abilities.
• A collaborative, proactive leadership style with excellent communication skills.

• Reports directly to the President.
• Key member of the Leadership Team, shaping the future of Moots.
