The City of Steamboat Springs has a fun seasonal position at Howelsen Hill as a
** Lift Operator / Tubing Hill Attendant.
** This position starts at $21.97/hour and applicant must be available to work weekends.
** 2026 Pay Range: $21.97 - $26.70/hr.
*** Placement within the range is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
* Seasonal employees are eligible for option 1: **$1.50/hour end*

** OR option 2: for those working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for a
** Steamboat Resort Merchant Pass
** paid for by the City of Steamboat Springs
** in lieu of option 1 (employees' choice).
** All employees of Howelsen Hill will be eligible to participate in the
** Real Deal,
** allowing employees to ski at most ski areas in CO.
** Supervision Received**:
Works under the general supervision of Supervisor, Foreman, and Lift Maintenance.
** Lift Operator / Tubing Hill Attendant*
* ** is seasonal from December through March at 36-40 hours a week.
**** Job Duties
*** Serves as an ambassador of the City of Steamboat Springs and upholds City values of Service, Teamwork, Integrity, Well-being, Respect and Compassion, while always promoting safety.
*** Responsible for daily operation of tubing hill including but not limited to:
*** Morning set-up, ticket validation, safety briefing, traffic flow through the tubing hill, speed management, snow maintenance and completion of daily logs.
* Hourly safety orientation and introduction to the tubing hill operation and work to ensure rules and systems are being followed by participants.
** Responsible for lift operation including but not limited to:
*** Guest safety and interaction, ticket checking, completion of daily logs and lift safety checks, maintaining lift load/unload and surrounding area, providing support for special events

Ability to work for extended periods of time outside in winter conditions.

Provides top notch guest service to our customers from arrival to departure.

Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.

Maintains operational areas with a high level of detail and thoroughness.

Works to keep tools and supplies neat, organized, and clean.

Works to maintain a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for our guests and coworkers.

Performs other duties as assigned.
** We are seeking the following qualifications
**** Education and Experience**:

Experience with ski area operations, ski lift operations preferred

Experience working in amusements preferred but previous experience working in a customer service-oriented role acceptable as well

Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

** Necessary knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
** Knowledge in working in environments dedicated to quality customer service and safety

Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, participants, coworkers, and the public
