Regional Debtors Clerk

Regional Debtors Clerk job vacancy in Stellenbosch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full debtors function, including processing and maintaining accurate customer accounts.
• Reconcile customer accounts and ensure timely allocation of receipts and remittances.
• Monitor overdue accounts, follow up with customers, and escalate outstanding matters where necessary.
• Manage accounts for key retailers and customers while ensuring deadlines and requirements are met.
• Resolve customer queries and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders.
• Assist with month-end debtors processes and prepare reconciliations, reports, and supporting schedules.
• Support the finance team with maintaining strong internal financial controls.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date debtor records and provide clear feedback on outstanding accounts.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Debtors role.
• Previous experience working with major retailers will be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and debtors management processes.
• Experience with Syspro or similar accounting software.
• Strong reconciliation skills and experience managing customer remittances.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Relevant qualification in credit and risk management or a related field will be advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual.
• Highly organised, accurate, and able to manage high volumes and tight deadlines.
• Professional, customer-focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
