As an Audit Senior
, you will take ownership of significant parts of audit engagements, work directly with experienced Dutch audit professionals and support the development of junior colleagues.

And because international collaboration is about more than Teams calls, your development may also include training and working periods in the Netherlands.

As an Audit Senior, you will play an important role within the engagement team and act as a key link between the client, junior team members and the engagement manager.

Your responsibilities include:

• planning and performing audit procedures for Dutch audit engagements;
• understanding clients, their business models, processes and internal controls;
• identifying audit risks and translating them into appropriate audit procedures;
• performing and documenting substantive and controls-based audit work;
• analysing financial information and identifying unusual or unexpected developments;
• taking ownership of assigned sections of the audit and ensuring they are completed on time and to a high standard;
• discussing audit findings, questions and areas requiring professional judgement with colleagues in South Africa and the Netherlands;
• communicating directly and professionally with clients;
• reviewing work where appropriate and supporting less experienced colleagues;
• contributing to the continuous improvement of our audit approach, technology and ways of working;
• helping to build and develop the Cape Connect Audit team as we grow.

You will work across different clients, industries and audit teams, giving you broad experience and genuine exposure to an international audit environment.

We do not define success by how many hours you spend behind your laptop.

• produce audit documentation that is clear, concise and reviewable;

• continuously develop your professional judgement and take on increasing responsibility.

Over time, you will grow from taking responsibility for significant parts of an audit to coordinating work streams and helping manage complete audit engagements.

We are looking for someone who combines a solid audit background with curiosity, ownership and the confidence to work in an international environment.

You ideally have:

• a relevant degree in Auditing or a related field;
• at least 3 years of external audit experience
  , ideally including experience as a Senior or acting Senior;
• a solid understanding of audit methodology and financial reporting;
• experience preparing and reviewing audit documentation;
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• professional written and verbal communication skills in English;
• the ability to work independently while remaining strongly connected to the wider team;
• confidence working with digital audit tools and an interest in technology and AI;
• the ability and willingness to support and coach junior colleagues.

Progress towards, or completion of, a CA qualification is an advantage, but your experience, mindset and potential are equally important to us.
