Senior Auditor - Financial Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Auditor to join their internal audit team in Stellenbosch . This role is crucial for assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance across the organization's financial operations. You will conduct audits, identify areas for improvement, and work with management to implement recommendations, ensuring the company operates efficiently and in compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of auditing standards, and excellent report-writing abilities, contributing to the integrity and reliability of the company's financial reporting and operational processes.

• Plan and execute internal audits in accordance with professional standards and the annual audit plan.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting and operational processes.
• Identify, document, and analyze audit findings, recommending practical solutions.
• Prepare detailed and clear audit reports for management and the audit committee.
• Follow up on the implementation of agreed-upon recommendations.
• Contribute to the risk assessment process and the development of the audit scope.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, or a related field;
  Professional certification (e.g., CIA, CA(SA)) is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in internal or external auditing, with a focus on financial services .
• Strong knowledge of auditing methodologies, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques and audit software .
• Excellent report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit engagements in Stellenbosch .
