About the Opportunity

An innovative property developer is expanding its Development & Project Management team and is seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Development Quality & Project Coordinator.

This role combines on-site quality control and snagging oversight with structured project administration and coordination. It is ideally suited to someone who is practical, organised, confident on site, and meticulous about both workmanship standards and documentation.

You will play a key role in ensuring residential units are delivered to a high standard and that project processes remain controlled, compliant and well-documented.

Key Responsibilities

Snagging & Site Quality Oversight

  • Conduct detailed inspections of homes, apartments and common areas prior to handover.

  • Compile and manage snag lists using snagging software.

  • Monitor and follow up on rectification work to ensure timely and quality completion.

  • Conduct de-snag inspections and confirm readiness for sign-off.

  • Maintain accurate defect registers and track contractor performance.

  • Identify recurring quality issues and provide structured feedback to improve standards.

  • Ensure all units meet internal quality benchmarks before occupation.

Contractor Oversight & Construction Coordination

  • Monitor contractor workmanship against specifications and approved drawings.

  • Ensure adherence to timelines for snag rectification and completion.

  • Liaise between contractors, project managers and the development team.

  • Escalate quality or performance concerns when required.

  • Attend site meetings and provide structured progress and quality updates.

Project Administration & Documentation

  • Maintain and update snag registers, compliance records and inspection logs.

  • Monitor construction management systems to ensure communication and updates remain current.

  • Track key documentation such as NHBRC certificates, occupation certificates, compliance certificates and variation orders.

  • Assist with invoice tracking, change orders and related project documentation.

  • Ensure digital and physical project files are organised and up to date.

  • Highlight delays or risks where contractor responses or processes are lagging.

Scheduling & Progress Monitoring

  • Assist with tracking construction timelines and key milestones.

  • Monitor daily site progress and provide structured feedback to the team.

  • Coordinate access to units for inspections, repairs and handover preparation.

  • Support site logistics coordination where required.

Handover & Client Readiness Support

  • Assist with preparing units for final handover inspections.

  • Ensure all snag items are resolved prior to occupation.

  • Support preparation of handover documentation and readiness checklists.

  • Provide feedback to improve future handover processes.

Requirements Education & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Project Administration or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3–4 years’ experience in residential construction, site supervision or construction administration.

  • Experience with snagging and quality control processes is advantageous.

Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong quality-first mindset.

  • Confident and assertive when engaging with contractors.

  • Strong administrative capability and document management skills.

  • Excellent organisational and time management ability.

  • Ability to balance significant site presence with structured administrative follow-through.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and construction-related software systems.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Personal Attributes

  • Practical and comfortable working on site.

  • Methodical and structured in approach.

  • Firm but fair in managing contractor standards.

  • Proactive and solution-focused.

  • Able to perform under pressure during peak handover periods.

  • Positive and team-oriented.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time role based primarily on site in Stellenbosch, with some office-based administration.

  • Significant time spent walking site and conducting inspections.

  • Occasional extended hours may be required before major handovers.

If you are quality-driven, organised, and confident in a residential construction environment, this opportunity offers exposure to a premium development project and a high-performing team environment.
