Senior 3D Modeler - Architectural Visualization

Our client, a leading architectural visualization studio renowned for its photorealistic renderings and immersive walkthroughs, is seeking a talented Senior 3D Modeler. This role is based in the picturesque town of Stellenbosch, Western Cape, ZA
. You will be responsible for creating high-quality, detailed 3D models of buildings, interiors, and landscapes based on architectural plans and reference materials. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional modeling skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of architectural forms and materials. You will collaborate closely with architectural designers, lighting artists, and compositors to bring visual concepts to life and deliver stunning architectural visualizations.

• Create detailed and accurate 3D models of buildings, interiors, exteriors, and surrounding environments from architectural drawings, blueprints, and photographic references.
• Optimize 3D models for efficient rendering and real-time applications, ensuring clean topology and proper UV mapping.
• Collaborate with the visualization team, including architectural designers, lighting artists, and texture artists, to achieve project goals.
• Maintain a high standard of quality and attention to detail in all modeling work.
• Develop and manage asset libraries, ensuring consistency and reusability of models.
• Stay updated with the latest 3D modeling software, techniques, and industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to 3D modeling and scene assembly.
• Participate in team meetings, providing input on project timelines and technical feasibility.
• Ensure all models adhere to project specifications and artistic direction.
• Create custom props and assets as required for specific projects.
• Assist in scene setup and layout for rendering.
• Review and provide feedback on the work of junior modelers.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a 3D Modeler, with a significant focus on architectural visualization.
• A strong portfolio showcasing realistic and detailed architectural 3D models.
• Expertise in industry-standard 3D modeling software such as 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, or Cinema 4D.
• Proficiency in high-poly and low-poly modeling techniques.
• Strong understanding of hard-surface modeling and organic modeling.
• Experience with UV mapping, texturing, and material creation is essential.
• Familiarity with rendering engines like V-Ray, Corona Renderer, or Arnold.
• Excellent understanding of architectural design principles and construction.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications accurately.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
• Attention to detail and a passion for creating realistic environments.
• Experience with ZBrush for sculpting details is a plus.
