Senior Mathematics Educator

About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced and inspiring Senior Mathematics Educator to join their vibrant academic community in Stellenbosch . You will lead the delivery of high-quality mathematics education, mentoring junior teachers and developing advanced curriculum content. This role requires a deep understanding of mathematical principles and a proven ability to engage students from secondary levels, fostering analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

As a senior member of the faculty, you will contribute significantly to the department's strategic direction and the overall academic excellence of the institution, within the picturesque Western Cape region.

• Teach advanced mathematics courses to secondary school students, fostering deep understanding and application.
• Develop and implement innovative curriculum and lesson plans aligned with national standards.
• Mentor and guide junior mathematics teachers, providing pedagogical support and sharing best practices.
• Assess student progress, analyze performance data, and implement strategies for academic improvement.
• Lead extracurricular mathematics clubs or competitions to promote student engagement.
• Contribute to departmental meetings and strategic planning for mathematics education.

• Relevant Bachelor's degree with a major in Mathematics;
  Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience teaching mathematics at the secondary school level.
• Proven track record of achieving strong student results in national examinations.
• Expertise in curriculum development and modern pedagogical approaches in mathematics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with educational technology for mathematics instruction.
