About the Role

Our client is looking for an inspiring Subject Teacher specializing in English to join their educational community in Stellenbosch . This role involves cultivating a deep appreciation for literature and language among high school students, enhancing their reading, writing, and critical analysis skills. You will design and deliver dynamic lesson plans that engage students with diverse literary works and linguistic concepts, preparing them for academic challenges and fostering effective communication.

• Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans for English Language and Literature across various high school grades.
• Engage students with diverse literary texts, encouraging critical thinking, analytical reading, and effective writing skills.
• Assess student performance through essays, presentations, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
• Foster a dynamic and interactive classroom environment that promotes active participation and a love for the English language.
• Collaborate with department colleagues to develop and refine curriculum offerings and teaching strategies.

• A relevant Bachelor's degree in English or a related humanities field, coupled with a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE).
• Qualified and registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience teaching English to high school students.
• Strong understanding of literary analysis, grammar, and composition principles.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
