Special Needs Childcare Assistant

Our client is searching for a compassionate and skilled Special Needs Childcare Assistant to provide dedicated support within their inclusive learning environment in Stellenbosch. You will work closely with educators to assist children with diverse learning and physical needs, ensuring they receive tailored support to thrive. • Provide one‑on‑one or small group support to children with special needs as directed by educators.
• Assist children with daily living activities, including personal care, feeding, and mobility, as needed.
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies under guidance.
• Facilitate children's participation in classroom activities and social interactions.
• Observe and document children's progress, challenges, and responses to interventions.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support.

• Experience working with children with special needs (e.g., disabilities, learning difficulties).
• Relevant qualification or certification in special needs education support or childcare.
• Patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of diverse learning needs.
• Excellent observational and communication skills.
