Youth Mentor

Our client is seeking a passionate and inspiring Youth Mentor to work with young people in Stellenbosch . This role involves providing guidance, support, and positive role modeling to help adolescents navigate challenges, develop life skills, and achieve their potential. You will work closely with youth in various settings, offering mentorship that fosters personal growth, academic success, and responsible decision-making. This position is ideal for individuals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people within the local community.

• Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with assigned youth mentees.
• Provide guidance on academic pursuits, career exploration, and personal development goals.
• Facilitate life skills workshops covering topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and financial literacy.
• Act as a positive role model, demonstrating responsible behavior and ethical conduct.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and school personnel to support youth development.
• Monitor mentee progress and provide regular feedback to the program coordinator.

• High school diploma required; some college education or relevant experience is preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents or youth programs.
• Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to youth empowerment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of the Stellenbosch community and its youth services is beneficial.
