Our client is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Solar Energy Technician to join their growing team in the picturesque town of Stellenbosch . This role is essential for the installation, maintenance, and repair of photovoltaic (PV) systems, contributing directly to the expansion of renewable energy solutions in the Western Cape. You will work on diverse residential and commercial projects, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and client satisfaction.
This is a hands-on role for an individual passionate about sustainability and keen to advance their career within the booming solar energy sector .
- Install, configure, and commission solar PV systems, including panel mounting, wiring, and inverter setup.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic testing on existing solar installations.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in solar PV systems, ensuring optimal energy generation.
- Ensure all installations are performed safely and comply with electrical codes and industry standards.
- Provide basic training and support to clients on their solar energy systems.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and system performance.
- Relevant technical qualification (e.g., NTC, Artisan in Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience installing and maintaining solar PV systems .
- Good understanding of electrical principles, wiring, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret solar system designs and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in electrical installations.
- Valid driver's license and a commitment to working outdoors in various weather conditions in Stellenbosch .
