Position: Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS)

Overview

Seeking to appoint soonest, a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) to join a well established, multi disciplinary Consulting firm specializing in Large Government Infrastructure projects in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will form part of the Quantity Surveying Department and will work closely with the Architecture and Engineering teams on a variety of projects. Minimum Requirements

  • BTech or BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Professional Registration (PrQS)
  • Minimum 4–5 years experience (up to 6–10 years experience will be advantageous)
  • PROCSA project methodology and framework will secure
  • Valid drivers licence
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Technical Skills

  • WINQS
  • DIMX
  • MS Word
  • MS Excel (strong proficiency required for reporting purposes)

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate design documentation
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates
  • Compile Bills of Quantities and contract documentation
  • Conduct financial evaluation of tenders
  • Administer cash flow forecasts, cost reports, valuations, variation orders, and contractual claims
  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts
  • Attend project and client meetings
  • Formulate, review, and analyse repair estimates
  • Prepare viability studies, damage costings, and determine value at risk
  • Liaise and collaborate with multi disciplinary teams, including Project
  • Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors
