Production Technician

Production Technician position available in Stellenbosch.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate, and test RF and digital communication systems, including PCB assemblies, cable harnesses, and mechanical components.
• Perform functional, environmental, and RF testing using specialised laboratory equipment to ensure product quality and performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot production faults to component level, document findings, and support continuous product improvement.
• Assist with product industrialisation by developing test jigs, creating work instructions, and providing manufacturing feedback.
• Maintain accurate production and testing records while ensuring compliance with quality, ESD, cleanliness, and industry standards.
• Support product qualification testing, including vibration, thermal cycling, and thermal vacuum test campaigns.

Minimum Requirements:

• BTech Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Production Technician or in a similar electronic manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with RF and communication systems.
• South African citizenship or a valid work permit.
• Experience in the aerospace, defence, space, or other high-reliability electronics industries advantageous.
• Knowledge of RF testing equipment, including spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, vector network analysers, and power meters.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
• Experience with component-level fault-finding, precision electronic assembly, and ESD-safe handling practices.
• Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100 advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment.
