Job Description:

• Oversee the day-to-day management of vineyard and farm operations, including planting, pruning, irrigation, fertilisation, pest control, and harvesting.
• Monitor vine health, soil quality, and crop performance to maximise grape quality, yield, and sustainability.
• Plan and implement seasonal vineyard programmes aligned with production and operational objectives.
• Lead, train, and manage vineyard teams, ensuring safe work practices, high performance, and efficient harvest operations.
• Maintain farm equipment, irrigation systems, and oversee general property maintenance and repairs.
• Drive compliance with environmental, ethical, and sustainability standards, including relevant industry certifications.
• Manage farm security, maintain operational records, and support audits and administrative requirements.
• Assist with promotional activities, vineyard tours, and collaborate with the sales and marketing teams when required.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 with a qualification in Winemaking, Oenology & Viticulture, or an Agricultural Degree/Diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience managing vineyards and farm operations.
• Strong technical knowledge of vineyard practices, farm machinery, and winemaking processes.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
• Computer literate.
• Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak operational periods such as harvest.
• Commitment to sustainable farming practices, safety, and environmental compliance.
