Structural Engineer - Residential & Commercial

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Structural Engineer to contribute to their growing portfolio of residential and commercial building projects in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role focuses on the design, analysis, and oversight of building structures, ensuring their safety, stability, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. You will collaborate closely with architects and construction teams to bring innovative designs to life, playing a key role in shaping the built environment of this historic and vibrant town.

• Design and analyze structural systems for new buildings and renovations, including foundations, beams, columns, and slabs.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations for residential homes, multi-story buildings, and commercial properties.
• Ensure compliance with the National Building Regulations (SANS 10400) and other relevant structural codes.
• Conduct site visits and inspections during construction to verify adherence to design specifications and address any structural issues.
• Liaise effectively with architects, developers, contractors, and local authorities in Stellenbosch .
• Utilize structural analysis software to model and evaluate structural behavior under various load conditions.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design, with a strong portfolio of completed building projects.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Prokon).
• In-depth knowledge of South African structural design codes and standards.
• Experience with various building materials, including concrete, steel, and masonry.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work collaboratively.
