About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Petroleum Engineer to join their esteemed technical team in Stellenbosch. This role focuses on optimizing the recovery of oil and gas reserves through advanced engineering analysis and strategic planning. You will be instrumental in evaluating field performance, identifying development opportunities, and contributing to the overall profitability of the company's assets. This position requires a deep understanding of reservoir behavior, production systems, and economic evaluation, working within a collaborative environment in the scenic Western Cape.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze well and reservoir performance data to identify production enhancement opportunities.
- Develop and implement artificial lift systems and production optimization strategies.
- Conduct economic evaluations for field development projects, including reserve estimates and project profitability assessments.
- Perform wellbore integrity and equipment performance analyses.
- Collaborate with geological and drilling teams on field development planning and execution.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in petroleum engineering, encompassing reservoir and production engineering.
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation, production forecasting, and economic modeling software.
- Strong knowledge of well performance analysis, artificial lift techniques, and well stimulation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in the South African oil and gas sector is a plus.
