About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join their team in Stellenbosch . This crucial role involves optimizing the production of oil and gas from existing wells and fields, ensuring efficient operations and maximizing recovery rates. You will analyze production data, identify operational issues, and implement solutions to enhance performance and maintain asset integrity. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to contribute to the sustainable operation of energy resources in a key region, working collaboratively with reservoir engineers, drilling teams, and field staff.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor daily production operations, analyze performance data, and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize well performance and artificial lift systems.
- Troubleshoot production problems, such as wellbore issues, equipment failures, and formation damage.
- Conduct economic evaluations for production enhancement projects, including workovers and EOR.
- Collaborate with the reservoir engineering team on field development planning and reserve estimation.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards for all production activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas production engineering .
- Strong understanding of production operations, artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, gas lift), and well completions.
- Proficiency in production data analysis and performance modeling software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a field operations environment.
- Knowledge of production chemistry and sand management.
