About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Petroleum Engineer specializing in production optimization to join their team in Stellenbosch . This role is vital for maximizing oil and gas recovery from existing fields through the application of advanced engineering techniques and technologies. You will analyze production data, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance well performance and overall field output.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, extensive field experience, and a proven ability to drive efficiency and profitability in the oil and gas production operations.
- Analyze production data from wells and fields to identify performance issues and optimization opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies for artificial lift systems, including ESPs, gas lift, and rod pumps.
- Conduct production forecasting, decline curve analysis, and economic evaluations for enhancement projects.
- Recommend and manage workovers, stimulation treatments, and other interventions to boost production.
- Collaborate with reservoir and drilling engineers to ensure integrated field development and production plans.
- Monitor operational performance and provide technical support to field operations teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline;
Master's preferred. - Minimum of 8 years of experience in petroleum engineering , focusing on production optimization .
- Proficiency in production analysis software, nodal analysis, and reservoir simulation interpretation.
- Strong understanding of wellbore flow, artificial lift methods, and surface facilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with data analysis and performance monitoring tools is essential.
