Junior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Systems

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their HVAC systems team in Stellenbosch . This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands‑on experience in the design, analysis, and implementation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, contributing to projects that ensure optimal environmental control for various applications.

This position is ideal for someone eager to learn, develop their skills, and grow within a specialized field of mechanical engineering.

• Assist in the design and development of HVAC systems , including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for airflow, heat load, and system performance.
• Utilize CAD software to create and modify drawings and schematics for HVAC installations.
• Support senior engineers in site visits for inspections, data collection, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for HVAC projects.
• Learn and apply industry standards and best practices in HVAC design and engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with exposure to HVAC systems being an advantage.
• Basic proficiency with CAD software .
• Familiarity with thermodynamic principles and heat transfer.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
