About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Telecoms Engineer to spearhead their engineering initiatives in Stellenbosch. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to lead a team of engineers in designing, developing, and implementing advanced telecommunications solutions. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of projects, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality network infrastructure and services. This position requires a blend of technical oversight and strategic planning, contributing significantly to the company's technological advancements.
- Lead and mentor a team of telecoms engineers, providing technical guidance and project oversight.
- Design and architect complex telecoms network solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Oversee the implementation and deployment of new network technologies and infrastructure upgrades.
- Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and strategies.
- Troubleshoot critical network issues and develop long-term solutions.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and standards.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Over 8 years of progressive experience in telecoms engineering, with a significant portion in a lead or architect role.
- Deep understanding of core network technologies, including routing, switching, signaling, and transmission.
- Proven experience in leading engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Experience with 5G or other advanced mobile technologies is highly desirable.
