Transportation Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Transportation Civil Engineer to join their team in Stellenbosch, Western Cape . This role is focused on the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure, including roads, intersections, and public transport facilities. You will be integral to improving mobility and connectivity within the region, working on projects that enhance safety and efficiency for all road users.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, geometric design, and project management, contributing to a team dedicated to innovative and sustainable transportation solutions in a scenic and growing area.

• Design road networks, including geometric alignment, pavement design, and intersection layouts.
• Conduct traffic studies, capacity analyses, and develop traffic management plans.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents for transportation projects.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and municipal officials on transportation infrastructure development.
• Assess the environmental and social impacts of transportation projects and propose mitigation measures.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng.) is preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation engineering design and project delivery.
• Proficiency in transportation design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, PTV Vissim, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of South African traffic engineering standards and geometric design guidelines.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
